Let's discover the southern part of our country with the beloved red wines!

                                

   

1.day – Arrival in Budapest

Arrival at the airport of Budapest. Transfer to the hotel. Take-over the rooms. Short time to refresh yourselves.
Followed by sightseeing in Budapest with the most important sights of the Pest side of the city with the Hereos square, Vajdahunyad casle, City Park, Andrassy Avendue with the Opera House and the St Stephens Basilcia.
In the evening, exclusive dinner with wine tasting in one of the best wine bars of the city representing the Eger wine region. Eger has everything you would expect from a great wine region. Its wines boast attractive acidity, good structure and a unique character that is easily identifiable. White and red, dry and, to a lesser extent, sweet, Eger has made them all its own and we will introduce you a great part of it!

2. day – Budapest and Villány

After breakfast the sightseeing continous on the Buda side with the Matthias Church and Fishermans bastion. 
Followed by drive to Villánykövesd, to the picturesque cellar village. Wine tasting and light lunch.
After lunch drive to Villány, the Hungary's most southerly wine region. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot are definitely must-tries here as well as the Kadarka, Portugieser, or Schiller wines. Hungary’s warmest vine region has long, dry, sub-Mediterranean summers and mild winters. 
Drive to the hotel, take-over the rooms followed by dinner and wine tasting in one of the most popular vineries of Villány.

3.day – Pécs and Villány

After breakfast drive to Pécs. The 2000 year old city is located on the slopes of the Mecsek mountains in the South-West of the country. The downtown of Pécs is a unique mixture of the relics of Early Christianity, the arrival of the Hungarians, the Turkish reign and the achievements of modern architecture and arts.
Sightseeing in Pécs with the magnificant Cathedral of Pécs. The 4-toured Romanesque cathedral is one of the symbols of Pécs with a history reaching back to ancient times. Entering the cathedral visitors are amazed by the interior. Walls with a colour scheme of blue and gold, the wooden coffered ceiling with the paintings of the 12 Apostoles and the canopied main altar in the centre of the nave
Followed by visit at the Mosque of Pasha Gazi Kasim, one of the biggest Islamic temples in Central Europe and the biggest preserved Islamic temple in Hungary. Today the Mosque of Pasha Gazi Kasim remains a Christian religious temple, but is mostly known as one of the most important tourist attractions in Pécs.
Followed by free time and lunch individually.
In the afternoon drive back to Villány, where we will enjoy a delicious dinner and wine tasting at another excellent vinery of Villány.

4.day – Kalocsa and Szekszárd

After breakfast drive to Kalocsa. Kalocsa has perhaps the richest folk art in all Hungary; the motifs painted by the town’s “writing women” are distinguished by inventiveness of design and a wealth of colour. Visit at the Folk Art House of Kalocsa.
Followed by visit at the Paprika House, which presents the success story of the world-famous ’red gold of Kalocsa’. Visitors can get acquainted with the past, the production and use of spice paprika. The exhibitions illustrate some of the implements and working process of growing paprika in the Kalocsa Region. Tourists can see traditions which are typical of rural production of paprika even nowadays.
Followed by drive to Bakodpuszta, where you can expereince a real Pusta program with horse show and traditional Hungarian cuisine. Before lunch there is a carriage ride also, where the guests can get aquainted with the best know indigenous pieces, with the black-bellied mangalica, with the racka sheep and with the regal grey cattle.
After lunch drive to Szekszárd, where you will find Hungary’s most elegant and spicy red wines. The region is one of the strongholds of Kékfrankos and Kadarka. Sightseeing in the town followed by wine tasting and dinner in Szekszárd.
Drive back to Villány, overnight in Villány.

5.day – Homeward journey

After breakfast transfer to the airport, homeward journey.
