Discover Budapest and get into the footsteps of Empress Sissi!

                                                                                                   

   

 

1.day – Arrival in Budapest

Arrival at the airport of Budapest. Transfer to the hotel. Take-over the rooms. Dinner in the hotel

2. day – Budapest

After breakfast guided sightseeing tour in Budapest, visiting the most famous sights of the capital: Heroes Square, Andrássy út with the Opera House (from the outside), St. Stephen’s Basilica (from the inside), Vaci Street- pedestrian area and Great Market Hall.

Lunch individually

In the afternoon the sightseeing continuous on the Buda side: Castle District with the Castle of Buda, Matthias Church, Fishermen’s Bastion
Dinner in the hotel

3.day – Castle of Gödöllő and Horse show

After breakfast meeting with the guide, drive near to Gödöllő. Horse Show programme at the tscharda of the Hungarian world champions, the Lázárs. The guests are welcomed by the Csikós (wrangler) and he escorts them to the tsharda court. Welcome with fresh cakes (Pogácsa), schnaps (Hungarian brandy) and mineral water. Horse show with the most famous elements of the former Hungarian wranglers.

Visit at a typical Hungarian ploughman’s home, where you will see the famous shepherds dog "puli", the racka sheep and the grey cattle. Visit at the hall of the champions (medals, prizes and various riding accessories). Visit at the equerry with the world champion horses. 
Lunch of Hungarian specialities in the tscharda.
Followed by visit at the Castle of Gödöllő. The Royal Palace of Gödöllő is the largest baroque palace in Hungary and is one of the largest in Europe over 17,000m2. It was built as a summer residence for Queen Elisabeth (Sissi), wife of the Austrian emperor, in the 1800’s. It was indeed her favourite residence.
Drive back to Budapest, dinner in the hotel.

4.day – Homeward journey

After breakfast transfer to the airport, homeward journey.
