BIKE TOUR OF TWO LAKES: LAKE BALATON AND LAKE VELENCE 5 days / 4 nights   Discover the beauties of the Hungarian Sea and Lake Velence by bike!

 

1.day – Arrival in Budapest

Arrival at the airport of Budapest. Drive to Lake Balaton. Few may know that the 77-km-long Lake Balaton is the largest lake in Central Europe and it awaits you with over 200km cycle path around the Lake. During our tour we will not do the entire Balaton cycle, but we will see its beauties for sure!

2. day – Balaton Uplands 

After breakfast we will start our first day of biking at Lake Balaton. Todays tour will show you the beauties of the Balaton Uplands National Park, which runs along the northern shore of Lake Balaton in a 1-15 km wide band. The national park is like an open-air museum with its picturesque landscape and outstanding relics of history. The ruins of medeival churches, just outside the villages, served as the source of building material for recent churches.
It is a bike tour of cca. 45km, starts at Balatonfüred and brings you to picturesques small villages like Vászoly and Dörgicse, we will bike next to Tihany and get back to Balatonfüred at the end of the day.

3.day – Eastern Part of Lake Balaton

Today we will discover the eastern part of Balaton by bike. This time we will drive mainly next to the Lake. After a short transfer we start our day of biking at Balatonvilágos, from here we will have a cca. 45km long way with Balatonfüred as end point. Enjoy the route and the magnificent scenery that opens in front of you!

4.day – Lake Velence

Today we will show you Lake Velence and its' great cycle route. Lake Velence is the third largest lake in Hungary. One-third of its surface is covered by reed. The 30-kilometre-long tour around Lake Velence is enjoyable for everyone, the route is mostly flat and is easily manageable within a few hours. During the tour you can enjoy the beauty of the lake’s rich flora and fauna and the surrounding little towns, which makes it worth spending a whole day here.
After the bike tour drive back to Lake Balaton, dinner in the hotel.

5.day – Homeward journey

After breakfast transfer to the airport, homeward journey.
